Chrys

Well My Love……

We celebrated your actual 70th birthday in lockdown, just the two of us, in our glorious spring garden. The weather was fabulous and we had lots of special moments throughout the month – meals outside, creating new areas in the garden, a cowboy campfire, watching the season unfold and enjoying the abundant birdlife.

Thank you for all the joys and treasures you have brought not only to my life but to those around you. You are a generous soul, always willing to help out and to do your utmost to make things happen for people. Thanks to you we have created a place at our home where family can gather, friends can party and people can come for healing and nurture in our lovely garden and Sound Lodge.

This is thanks to you and your creative ability to build what we dream up. We designed the Sound lodge drawing it out full scale in the sand on the beach at Goa, then you came back and built it.

We both like and adventure and you are always ready to ‘go for it’ and have thrown yourself into things you might not have dreamed you would try before, and the same for me, I have stepped into parts of life I never knew before. We are very different but at our best we’ enable’ each other…….

We are lucky enough to have visited lots of really interesting places around the world together and to have made some really special friends. I have especially loved our crazy times in India and have enjoyed having you as a travel mate as we had many scary tuk tuk rides, visited jaw droppingly beautiful palaces, danced on the beach at midnight and covered ourselves in all the colours of the rainbow at Holi…

Family is important to both of us. Michael and Lizzy have given you four lovely grandchildren, William, Rhianna, Leo and George and they appear here to wish you happy birthday. Add to that my lot  Em and her partner Dave, Celyn and Rohan and  Dave’s daughter Eira , and Will and Trina with their twins Rupes and Elliot, and there are even more children running around the garden and enjoying our home.

We have such lovely times here and beside all the family gatherings we treasure the times spent with friends. We are blessed to have really dear friends that mean so much to us and enrich our life.

Thank you for all that you bring into my life. I hope you enjoy this ‘gathering’ of some of the people we would have liked to celebrate with in person during your 70th year…

I couldn’t have got this together without a huge input from Michael who has brought his expertise and technical skill to this project, and also your sister Rosie who has been my collaborator extrodinaire, helping me to trace various friends form your early days and providing precious family photos.

Much love, xxxxxx
